This is a simple mesh screen that fits right at the air intake of your Rietschle VC100 or VC150 vacuum pump. Its job is to catch any large dust, dirt, or debris before they get sucked into the pump and cause damage.

Rietschle VC100 or VC150 vacuum pump is running, it pulls in air. But the air around machines is rarely clean. It often has dust, fibers, or small metal chips floating around.
If those particles get inside your pump, they can scratch the internal parts. Over time, that leads to poor performance and even pump failure.
